Roberta Kay Collins, age 85, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026. She was born on March 2, 1941 in Wilmington, DE, to the late Robert Douglas Collins and Margaret Elaine (Beckerle) Collins.
Kay passed away peacefully, leaving behind a life filled with curiosity, creativity, and love for her family. From an early age, Kay’s first love was reading, and books remained a lifelong companion that fueled her knowledge and imagination. She had a deep appreciation for beauty and history, which showed in the many things she enjoyed—flowers, gardening, crafting, collecting antiques, and listening to music from the 1930s and 1940s.
Kay greatly enjoyed her time working at Winterthur Museum, where she loved learning and connecting with others who shared her passion for history and decorative arts and education. She found joy in helping people connect with the past and was always happy to share what she had learned. She never missed an opportunity to teach or inspire others.
Above all else, Kay cherished her family. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored and loved beyond measure. They were the light of her life and brought her endless pride and joy.
Kay is survived by her daughter, Amy Paris, and her husband, Stephen; and two grandsons: Logan Paris and Braden Paris.
Services will be held privately.
