Robert (Bob) Wayne Johnson, age 61, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. He was born on August 18, 1962, in Havre de Grace, MD to Walter Stanley Johnson and the late Lois Ruth (Jurak) Renshaw.
Bob was a fun, and passionate man with many passions and interests. He was a long-time member of the American Legion Post 194, the North East Yacht Club, and the Masonic Lodge. Bob always found comfort in spending time with his family and friends, cherishing every moment. His love for boating, fishing, and being on the water brought him immense joy, especially when crabbing and dredging oysters. His love for Destin, Florida derived from his time living there, where he cherished the white sands and crystal-clear waters of the Gulf. Bob’s adventurous spirit also led him to live in Alaska and all over the United States.
Bob was known for his culinary skills, having won “Chef of the County” and a chili competition for the legion. His love for cooking began in his younger years, working in Michelin star restaurants in Florida, this passion led him to work as a chef for Blue Marlin Catering Company and Bucks Restaurant. Music was another one of Bob’s talents, as he enjoyed playing the drums. Bob had a knack for tinkering with things and finding solutions, showing his creativity. He was known as “Jack of all trades and a master in some”. Bob had a cunning attention to detail and was very known for his handiwork in his trade. He was always full of life and up for an adventure. Bob will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his son, Bradley Johnson (Andrea), his daughter, Amanda Rombach (Jason), and his grandchildren: Clara Johnson, Moss Rombach, Gracie Rombach, Jeramiah Rombach, and Leelyn Rombach; his father, Walter S. Johnson (Julie), and brothers: James Johnson (Melissa) and Michael Johnson (Diane).
Services for Bob will be held privately, and at the convenience of the family.
