Robert Harold Hollada, Sr., age 58, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Seasons Hospice at Franklin Square in Rosedale, MD. He was born in Elkton, MD on May 2, 1958, to the late Floyd and Lydia (Damron) Hollada.
Rob worked many years as a drywall hanger for several companies in the area, the last being Speedy Drywall. He enjoyed fishing, and would frequent all the favorite spots. With a genuine and affable personality, he would always have friends stopping by to visit or would be visiting them. He enjoyed eating seafood and playing horseshoes. Rob was an avid football fan, and rooted for his Washington Redskins, through the highs and lows. His greatest love was for his family, being a husband, father, and especially a grandfather. He was proud of his grandchildren and spoke of them often.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, April Baldwin Hollada; sons, Joshua Hollada, of Elkton, MD, Jason Hollada, and his wife, Andrea, of Avon, NY, Justin Hollada, of Elkton, MD, and Robert Hollada, and companion, April Clancy, of Newark, DE; seven grand children, Taylor Hollada, Dakota Hollada, Travis Hollada, Joshua Hollada, Julia Hollada, Ameilia Hollada, and Robert Hollada III; sisters, Shirley Shrewsbury, Sharon Robertson, Karen Sluder, and Penny Sanders; a brother, Floyd Hollada; a several nieces and nephews, especially Donald Keith and Katie Hoad, Shirley “Sissy” Shrewsbury, and Patches Baldwin, to whom the family offers a special “Thank You” for their support.
In addition to his parents, Rob is predeceased by his son, James Derrick Hollada, brother, Michael Hollada, and sister, Shelby Hollada.
Celebration of Life will be held at 3PM on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921. Friends and family may visit two hours prior, beginning at 1PM. Burial will be private. To send an online condolence, visit www.rtfoard.com
