Robert “Dippy” Elsworth Cebula, Sr., age 80, of Rising Sun, MD passed away Monday, April 9, 2018. He was born on February 6, 1938 in Elkton, MD to the late Emil Cebula and Esther (Vandergrift) Cebula.
Dippy was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He liked to go deer hunting, or to go fishing on any body of water that he could drop a hook in to. While his health allowed, Dippy loved to dance at any opportunity. He had a generous nature and would help everyone that he could. Dippy found his greatest pleasure in spending time with his family and friends.
Dippy is survived by his son, Robert “Bobby” Cebula, Jr. and his wife, Mary; daughter, Donna Tocci; three step-daughters: Donna Alexander, Hope Wade and Debbie Finucan; two step-sons: Wayne Mitchell and James Mitchell; two granddaughters: Erin Cebula and Ashley Cebula; two brothers: Stanley Cebula and his wife, Vicky and Frank Cebula and his wife, Jane; sister, Irene Dunlap; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Dippy is preceded in death by step-son, Gary Mitchell; two brothers: Victor Cross and Collins Cross; and three sisters: Emily Reeves, Esther McCall and Lillian Clark.
A celebration of Dippy’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 E. Main St., Elkton, MD 21921. Family and friends may begin visiting at 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution in Dippy’s honor may be made payable to the “Help Center” and sent in care of the funeral home.
