Robert C. Witmer Sr.

Robert C. Witmer Sr., age 54, of Newark, DE, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2012. He was born on May 21, 1958 at the US Naval Station in Bermuda to Charles Witmer and the late Harriet (Haase) Witmer.

Bob was the owner and operator of The Pool Man in Newark, DE. He enjoyed sharing his passion for boating with his family and friends. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #1578 and an associate member of the VFW, Post #475. Bob enjoyed playing pool; he was the captain of two billiard teams.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 35 years, Karen Witmer of Newark, DE; daughter, Lori Taylor of Newark, DE; son, Robert Witmer Jr. and his wife, Kym of Newark, DE; grandchildren, his “best friend” Josh and “Princess” Ava; father, Charles Witmer; and four brothers, Bud, Steven, David, and Craig Witmer. He was also survived by a host of close family members. Bob was preceded in death by his mother Harriet Witmer.

Services will be at 12:00 PM on Friday, June 22, 2012 at R.T. Foard and Jones, 122 W. Main Street, Newark, DE 19711, where friends and family may call two hours prior. Burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery in Newark, DE. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o the funeral home.
