Robert “Bob” Clifford England of Calvert, MD passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021. He was born at home in Calvert, MD on April 11, 1929 to the late George William England and Lillian Anna England.

Bob attended school at Calvert then went on to attend the University of Maryland for a time. After his schooling, Robert worked as a milk tester traveling to farms in Cecil County. He then worked at Whitehall Farm, the Mendenhall Farm in Blue Ball and farmed on Post Road in Rising Sun with his first wife Emily England. After getting off of the farm, Bob worked for Alger Tires in sales, later he was a building contractor for Ryland Homes in North East. Bob also farmed his family farm on England Creamery Road until his sons took over.

Bob loved to work with wood in his work shop. He would make wooden toy chests for all of his great-grandkids as well as making bowls, frames, lazy susans, clocks, tables, cedar chests and much more. After his retirement, Bob did some traveling within the United States and took cruises. He was an avid bowler on the Fire Company League. Bob was very active in the Rising Sun Fire Company for many years and served on the board of Directors.

Bob is survived by four children: Robert “Robby” Andrew England, his wife Kathleen and their children, Shannon England Fernandes, husband Alphon and Lyle England, Wife Nicole; William “Jerry” Gerald England, his wife Lisa and their children David England, wife Shasta and Michael England; Diane Emily England Ring, her husband Harry and their children Hannah Ring Diehl, husband Matt, Noah Ring and Sharon Wells, husband Mike; John Clemson England, his wife Jackie and their children Britt Hernandez, Husband Lenin, Cory England and Melanie Winters, Husband Adam; Brother and Sister: George England, Isabelle Marshall, Lillian Carol England, her Husband Charles Pertain. Robert had three step-children: Beverly (Yale) Farmer, her husband Richard and their children Stephen M. Farmer, his wife Sharon and Richard W. Farmer, Sr., his wife Danielle; Vincent Franklin Yale, his wife Susan and their children Danielle M. Yale and Michael V. Yale; Stephen Marshall Yale, his wife Sue and their children Stephen M. Yale, Jr., Amanda L. Yale and Cassie M. (Sweetra) Richey and her husband Jon; 19 great-grandchildren, 7 step-great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his first wife Emily Brown England, his second wife, Shirley Lee (Gabbert) Yale England and sister-in-law Anna England.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 11 AM on Monday, April 5, 2021 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911, where family and friends may begin visiting at 9:30 AM.
