From metal shop 35+ years ago, to him serving as my daughter's vice principal, all the way to having him stand by my side as we said a prayer for my dad as he slipped away, Mr. Elwood was always someone who had it together and could share that with others to help them with their own strengths. We're all better for having known him. Condolences to Erin & all the family...

I am so sorry to hear that Paul has passed. We haven't been to the auction for a while. The last time I talked with Linda he was doing well. We know first hand what a strong person it takes to fight this illness. Although we didn't know Paul well we could tell he was extremely knowledgable and loved to tell stories! The families love was evident. Praying you find comfort in the memories you shared. Heaven has gained another angel.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Dave and family: You have shown great resilience during this difficult time. Our hearts and prayers go out to you and your family. May God encourage you and lift you up with hope as you endure during this period of grieving. Paul certainly had a positive and lasting impact in the people's lives he touched. I am proud to know his son and know that he carries the same attitude and spirit that Paul had here on earth and carries with him into the hereafter. God bless your family.

Paul Elwood was one of the greatest men I've ever known. Paul was my metal shop teacher, in Elkton High. I didn't just learn metal working from him, though. I learned about ethics and how to be a good human being from him. Paul Elwood helped shape the person I am today. In November 2017, I had my 50th birthday party. I was honored to have Paul there. I will miss you, my teacher, my mentor, my friend.

Paul was a Classmate of mine in our Infantry Officers Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia which graduated in June 1967. Because he was in one of the other 5 platoons, I didn't have the pleasure to get to know Paul at that time. We began having annual OCS Class Reunions about 15 years ago and Paul attended all but one. In fact, he was very instrumental in locating and creating a contact database for our graduating classmates. Paul had the unique ability to story telling in great detail. In fact, I was amazed at his knowledge and familiarity with a vast number of topics. I always enjoyed his conversations. At our 50th year anniversary of our OCS graduation, we held our reunion in June 2017 at Fort Benning Georgia and had two days of touring old training and recreation sites. Paul brought a large family contingent with him (wife Linda, children and grandchildren) to walk down memory lane with him. I will miss Paul and feel honored to have been his Classmate. Paul served his country bravely and with valor. He was an loving and devoted husband, son, father and grandfather. He was an outstanding citizen and served tirelessly in his community in multiple organizations and endeavors. He was a dedicated educator and influenced countless students. I salute Paul and express my condolences to his wife Linda and his family. Jerry Cooper Muskogee, Oklahoma September 24, 2018

Working with Paul at Elkton High School was a humbling experience. His passion for his career, helping others and helping to make the world a better place, was evident in his interactions with his many students. They loved him. Paul transcended classroom knowledge and taught his students about life-about courage, ethics, loyalty and honesty. He brought the same intensity to his work at CASA.
My prayers are with his family at this time

I am so very sorry to learn of Paul's passing. I met Paul around 1996 when My son Quinton and Paul's grandson Caleb were in daycare together. They became good buddies. I last spoke with Paul and Caleb a few months back at Sue's Restaurant one Saturday morning. He was excited to share his story of reunions with his fellow Vietnam era soldiers. I had great respect for Paul. I will never forget June 1st 2009. My son Quinton was a student at RSMS. We had lost my parents and Quinton's Grandparents in an auto accident on May 22. Quinton was returning to school after a very challenging week. Paul took the time to take Quinton and I into his office so he could express his sympathy for our loss and to promise Quinton that he was there to support him in any way that he could. Thank you Paul! Much love and respect Sir!

To Linda and family, First of all, Joe and i extend our deepest condolences on Paul's passing. My memories of Paul are all good ones. We worked together at Elkton HS in the 80's, and then at Cecil County School of Technology for many years. I always enjoyed his stories about the military, his wonderful family, and other tidbits. I never saw him in a bad mood. I remember when he had his Machine Shop class doing trigonometry. He never called it trigonometry and that's how they come most excelled in it. Being a former math teacher, I understand what he meant. Kids didn't necessarily like math, but they loved his Machine Shop. He was an excellent educator and his way with students was to be admired. Rest in peace my friend!
