Pat and I first hung out together in 6th Grade, and we went on to Sidway Junior High, teamed up with Rich Skotnicki, and proved to be troublesome to most of our teachers- some more than others. In high school, Pat played bass and I played drums in several bands- never making much, if any money, but having a lot of fun. After going our separate ways, we met again on line just in time for the 40th reunion of GIHS- where I also had the priviledge of meeting Lisa for the first time. Pat was a true gentleman, and I was very happy to know him. My prayers go out to Pat, Lisa, and the family- may Pat rest in peace....

Dear McCartan Family,
Patrick was such an incredible person. He touched everyone who knew him. Patrick was intelligent and always learning. He was kind and soft spoken. I don't believe we ever heard him raise his voice. He had the patience of a saint and a way of making others feel good about themself. Patrick's most endearing trait was his love of his wife and children. Without a doubt, he took great pride in his family. When Patrick joined our family by marrying Lisa, he definitely added many quality traits. Knowing Patrick was an honor and a privilege our family will always be greatful for. While growing up, we told our sons to lead by example. We will follow Patrick's example and do our best to love and support his family. Lisa thank you for sharing your wonderful husband and family. Love to all.

Patrick was one of the best men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He touched the lives of so many people. When I couldn't be at the hospital with my own father, I never worried because I knew Pat was checking in on him several times a day! I used to love seeing him out and about in Rising Sun, I would ask him what he was up to and he would tell me whatever she (Lisa) wants me to be up to! Always humble, always kind! This old world will not be the same without Patrick!
Love to you Lisa! You married a Prince Charming!
Blessings to the Children and Grandchildren you have and amazing set of footsteps to follow!
Love you all,
Bill and Lori Heath

We were children together...a bit mischievous. We held each other up through some very hard times...and still, we never lost the way to each other's hearts. May the McCartan and O'Connor clans be waiting with open loving arms, dear cousin. I love you dearly. Kathleen

Larry and I met Pat when our son became engaged to his daughter Brittany. We found him to be a friendly, caring and welcoming person to our family. He gave us the key to their vacation home in Florida the night of the rehearsal dinner for the wedding the following day. He and Lisa welcomed us to their family and we loved the times we spent together. We are sorry to lose him as a friend. He was such a loving person and was always thinking of the welfare of his family. Rest in Peace Pat. We are glad that we knew you.
Larry & Sharon Williams.
