Olga E. Figueroa of Newark, DE, age 77, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021. She was born in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico on July 20, 1944 to the late Felix Maldonado and Emilia Sanchez.

Olga had a lifelong relationship with God, and her husband Rene, was a Pentecostal pastor for over 30 years. She loved to spend time in her flower garden, sewing, knitting and doing crossword puzzles. Olga was fond of traveling, especially to Puerto Rico. A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she found her greatest joy in spending time with her loved ones. Olga will always be remembered as a great listener, giver of advice and loving Queen and “Boss” of the household. She was an angel on earth and will be dearly missed.

Olga is survived by the love of her life and husband of 59 years, Rene Figueroa Ortiz; four children: Betsy Rodriguez and her husband Urbano, Loida Esther Rodriguez and her husband Emilio, Samuel Figueroa and his wife Ivelisse, and Alvin Figueroa; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters and one brother. In addition to her parents, Olga was preceded in death by two sons: Rene Figueroa, Jr. and Javier Figueroa; as well as eight brothers and sisters.

A celebration of Olga’s life will be held at 11 am on Friday, September 10, 2021 at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711, where family and friends may begin visiting at 10 am. Burial will follow at Cherry Hill Cemetery in Elkton, MD.
