Michael Lynn Cook, age 72, of North East, MD, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023. He was born on June 17, 1950 in Carthage, NY to the late Clair and Virginia (Decker) Cook.

Michael was an avid New York Yankees fan, and loved watching all sports. During his free time, he enjoyed going fishing and spending time near the water. Michael will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Michael is survived by his wife, Dorothy J. Cook, of North East, MD; daughter, Tanya Nolan, of North East, MD; five sisters: Janice (Robert) Piatt, of Evans Mills, NY, Jo Ann Houston of Carthage, NY, Connie Pickering of Carthage, NY, Tammy (Keith) Widrick of Charlotte, NC, and Gina (Thomas) Powell of Ft Mill, SC; three brothers: John (Brenda) Cook of Evans Mills, NY, Terry (Shirley) Cook, of FL, and Randy Cook of Cayce, SC; and sister-in-law: Nancy Cook of Watertown, NY; also survived by, eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

In addition to his parents, Michael is preceded in death by his son, Michael Lynn Cook, II; brother, Gary Cook; sister, Cindy Piddock; three brother-in-law’s: William R. Houston, Sonny Pickering, and Charles Piddock; and son-in-law, David Nolan.

Dot and the entire family of Michael L. Cook, It was sad for us to learn the news regarding Mike's passing. Patty and I hope that you are able to find comfort in the company of family and friends at this time. I have many fond memories of happy times shared with Dot and cousin Mike, whenever Mike's parents and siblings got together with my family. Every time I sing the Bee Gees song, "Run To Me," I'll think of Mike and Dot. Years ago, when I performed music for family functions, they'd often request that tune.
