Mercy Deese Odom
Mercy was born 6th out of 8 children. Her siblings Mary Dupee (deceased), Vivian Dale (deceased), Jean Woods Lattimore (deceased). Mercy is survived by her sons: Jason Reese Ellerbe and his wife, Simone and Corey Odom, Sr. and his wife, Maureen; Adonis (Donnie) Ellerbe – step son and (special mention) Daughter; Ronda Dale-Montgomery; her grandchildren: Corey Odom, Jr., Cameron Odom, and Olivia Odom; her brother Jesse Odom Jr; and her sisters: Gloria Odom, Rosalyn Myers, and Teresa Odom along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mercy graced this earth for 67 years; she was an educator that taught elementary school kids. She took pride in her work and loved working with children, her bubbly disposition made her well suited for that profession. She also enjoyed listening to gospel music, watching her grandchildren play sports and reading her bible. She lived a humble life and received great joy out of giving joy to others. She had a laugh that was contagious, once you heard it, you couldn’t help, but to laugh with her. Her enthusiasm and reverence for family was obvious when you viewed her photo albums. She loved whole heartedly and in return was loved by many.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a graveside service will be held privately at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Flowers or memorial contribution to “The National Head Start Association” may be made payable to and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
