Mary Catherine Evanco, age 78, of Newark, DE, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022. She was born on October 24, 1943 in Hazelton, PA to the late John Yoch and Mary (Williams) Yoch.
Mary worked for Dr. Franklin and Dr Bilski as a medical receptionist and later on in life worked for Bailey, Banks and Biddle Jewelers as a salesperson, which she took joy in. Due to her back issues, it limited her activities but she enjoyed being a homebody and she loved watching her favorite shows on television. Mary was a huge Neil Diamond fan. She will be missed by everyone that knew and loved her.
Mary is survived by her longtime companion, Thomas Herbener; children: Michael John Evanco, Step-Son, Greg Herbener (Alison) and Brad Slader, Step-daughter, Amanda Herbener; Step Grandchildren: Lila, Mitchell, Cole and Clark.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 11:00AM at R.T Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE. 19711. Family and friends may begin visiting at 10:00 AM. Burial will be held privately.
