Marilyn Doris Mills, age 71, of Newark, DE, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026. She was born in Elizabeth, NJ on January 1, 1955, to the late Eugene Edwards Wade, Sr., and the late Doris Lorraine (Favire) Wade.
Marilyn dedicated most of her professional life to childcare and real estate. While raising her children, Marilyn devoted 23 years to her in-home childcare center. She pledged the past 18 years dutifully serving her clients as a Realtor, the majority of those years spent with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services. She was passionate about both of her careers, and deeply committed to the people she served.
Outside of work, Marilyn loved playing bingo and family was at the center of Marilyn’s heart. She loved being with her family and cherished the time that they spent together. When her children were younger, she made it a tradition to go to Florida every year, creating special family memories that would be cherished for years to come. While the location may have changed, the tradition of family vacations endured and was one she was able to share with her grandchildren. Marilyn was looking forward to meeting her newest granddaughter this fall.
Marilyn also had a fondness for good food, she enjoyed eating crabs, a favorite meal she would share with loved ones. She loved vacationing in Chincoteague, Virginia, where she could relax and enjoy the beauty and charm of the area. She also enjoyed driving to the Jersey Shore to visit the boardwalk, where the sights, and sounds, brought her happiness and a sense of fun.
Marilyn’s life was one of dedication, love, and enjoyment of the moments that matter most. She will be forever missed and remembered for the loving impact she made on everyone around her.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of 40 years, Allen Mills; children: Ty Mills, Matt Mills (wife, Deena), Aaron Mills (wife, Michelle), and Ashley Steward (husband, Donald Jr.); grandchildren: Alaina, Addison, Alivia, Alyse, Aiden, Austin, McKenzie, Donald III, Madilyn, and Charles; siblings: Sharon Wade, and Eugene Wade, Jr.
