Margaret Marie Goerlich, age 73, of Rising Sun, MD passed away on December 4, 2014.

Born on January 5, 1941 in Ashe Co, NC to Willard Powers and Shirley (Roberts) Powers, Margaret is survived by her daughter, Deborah Romich & her husband Gary of Cooksville, MD, Yvonne Kozlowski & her husband Joe of Rising Sun, MD; mother, Shirley Powers of Port Deposit, MD; sister, Theresa Gorrell of Rising Sun, MD; grandchildren, Sean Romich, Tyler Romich, and Nick Kozlowski.

She is preceded in death by her father Willard Powers, and sister Clarissie King.

A Service honoring Margarets life will be held 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at R.T.Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 South Queen Street Rising Sun, MD 21911, family and friends may visit starting at 12 noon.

Memorial contributions may be made payable to the Rising Sun Lions Club c/o R. T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911.

MY CONDOLENCES AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO YOUR FAMILY GOD BLESS YOU

The best memories I have of aunt Margaret is from the days she lived across the street from us in Zion. At christmas my mom would always ask me if the lights were on over at Margarets, if not I wasn't aloud to open my gifts until She was up. When Margaret and Jerry first moved across the street from my mom and dad in Zion we all had a "party line" telephone where we could here everytime the phone would ring our phone would ring.

My childhood memories are of all our families getting together for the holidays, The fun we had together as kids. My Mom and Aunt Susie had Aunt Margaret and Aunt Clarissie but Theresa, Debbie and Evie we had each other to get in trouble with. I am so sorry I can't be there in person but know you and Aunt Shirley hold a special place in my heart and prayers. My condolences to you and your families. Love, Sandy

Today I lost one of my best friends. We are cousins but we always felt like sisters. We loved our holidays because our families were together. I will miss you so much. It used to be Margaret and Clarisy, Bettye and Susie. Theresa didn't come along till much later. Our fathers were brothers and we usually got together for Christmas. I miss those times just like I'm going to miss Margaret. She was the oldest and did crazy things with my sister Bettye. God bless you, Margaret and special condolences to Aunt Shirley, Theresa, Debbie, Evie and the rest of the family.
