Lucy R. MacKenzie, age 73, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022. She was born on October 14, 1949 in Chester, PA to the late Frank F. Giunta, Sr. and Jeanette R. (Fecondo) Giunta and the devoted wife of the late, David MacKenzie.
Lucy was an avid crafter creating ceramic masterpieces throughout her life and most recently enjoyed (slowly) crafting beautiful cards while laughing with her friends. More than anything, Lucy enjoyed spending time with her family and wanted nothing more than to spend another day with the love of her life, David, whom she met when she was 16 years old. Lucy’s exuberant personality and (sometimes inappropriate) sense of humor will be greatly missed by everyone close to her; she was certainly known to work a room regardless the occasion.
Lucy is survived by her three children: Michele MacKenzie, Steven MacKenzie and his wife, Karen, and Dawn Steele and her husband, Ken; six grandchildren: Jared Steele, Christopher Steele, Ashley Barber, Amie Barber, Samantha Barber and John (JJ) Barber, and four great grandchildren: Savana Stout, Charlotte Stout, Theodore Strong and Joseph (JoJo) Barber; brother, Frank Giunta, Jr. and his wife, Victoria; sister, Darlene Giunta and her companion, John Lindsay; nieces and nephews: Sandy Clogg, Austin Purdy, Joseph Giunta, Kelly Stanley, Jeannette Gillin, Kathleen Giunta, Kassy Giunta as well as countless friends and extended family members.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, October, 27, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 pm at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD, 21921. A service will begin at 11:00 am on Friday, October 28, 2022. Burial will be held privately.
