Louisa Smith Cameron, age 99, of Rising Sun, MD, passes away peacefully on Thursday, January 7, 2023. She was born in North East, MD on February 28, 1923, to the late Lyman Smith and Minnie (Carhart) Smith.
For twenty years, Louisa worked as a registered nurse at Calvert Manor Nursing Home. Aside from working as a nurse, Louisa was a mother to her three children: Kathleen, Kenton Jr. and Keith, who she adored. Louisa was a lifelong member of Shelemiah UMC in North East, MD. In their spare time, Louisa, and her husband, Kenton Sr. enjoyed visiting Rehoboth Beach and owned a mobile home there for about twenty years.
Louisa is survived by her daughter: Kathleen (Charles) Roach; two sons: Kenton Wade Cameron, Jr., and Keith Edwin Cameron; three grandchildren: Heather Isaac Pippin, Cameron Isaac, and Jamie Helbig; three great-grandchildren: Alaina Pippin, Nathaniel Pippin, and Kristoff Helbig; and brother: Edwin Smith.
In addition to her parents, Louisa is preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenton Wade Cameron Sr.
A celebration of Louisa’s life will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at R.T. Foard Funeral Home P.A., 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911, where friends and family may begin visiting at 1:00PM. Burial will follow at Rosebank Cemetery.
