Dr. Louis A. Kaminski, 81, of Newark, DE, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Kathleen Sullivan Kaminski; his 5 children and their spouses: Sue (Jim Murdock) of Vermont, Bob (Bambi) of Texas, Lisa (Juan Pablo Rios) of Georgia, MaryLou (Charlie McNamara) of Maryland, and John of Delaware; his 9 grandchildren: Cate, Betsy, John, Andrew, Hayli, Bill, Maggie, Kathleen, and Brigit. The oldest of 5 siblings, Louis is also survived by his brother Alfred Kaminski, and his three sisters Bernadette Adams, Lynn West, and Sister Doreen Kaminski.
The son of the late Andrew P. and Agnes (Pilon) Kaminski, Lou was born in Buffalo, New York, and earned his B.A. from the University of Buffalo and his Ph.D. in organic chemistry in 1958 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Louis retired from his career at the DuPont Company after dedicating over 30 years of service. He enjoyed reading, wood working, and he was an award-winning artist who specialized in oil painting. He took great joy in spending time with his loving family. Among his many gifts, he designed and built a cabin on Indian Lake in Stoystown, Pennsylvania that his family continues to enjoy.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
