Leon Hudson, age 93 of Newark, DE passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. He was born in Port Chester, NY on October 15, 1928 to the late Nellie and McKinley Hudson.
Leon was a graduate of Port Chester High School in Port Chester, NY then going on to serve in the United States Army as a medic in the Korean War. After serving his country he attended the Manhattan Tech then made a career as a drafting supervisor where he was employed with United Technologies for 30 years. He was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Newark, Delaware.
Leon is survived by his daughter, Gail L. Hudson-Ruffins of Newark, DE; two sons: Kirby A. Hudson of Wilmington, DE and Gary L. Hudson of King of Prussia, PA; one sister, Bernice Jones of Newark, DE; and five grandchildren: Brendon Hudson, Courtney Hudson, Aaron Hudson, Ranger Ruffins and Seth Ruffins.
In addition to his parents, Leon was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years , Mamie Alen Hudson.
A graveside service will be held at Gracelawn Memorial Park 2200 N. Dupont Hwy, New Castle DE, 19720 on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 11:00 am. To send online condolences to the family please visit www.rtfoard.com.
