Larry Dean Testerman, 75, of Perryville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 13, 1949, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, he was the cherished son of the late Junior Dean Testerman and Doris Helen Wilson (née Roland).
Larry was a proud veteran who served his country honorably in the United States Army. He deployed to Vietnam, demonstrating courage and dedication, and later continued his service in the National Guard. After his military career, he worked as a groundskeeper for the Veterans Administration in Perry Point, Maryland, where he took great pride in maintaining the grounds that honored fellow servicemen and women.
A man of simple joys, Larry found happiness in life’s quiet moments. He was an avid golfer, a skilled bowler, and enjoyed playing pool. However, his true passion was fishing—spending countless peaceful hours by the water, casting his line and relishing the serenity of nature. His family remembers him as an honest and humble man who valued making amends and fostering meaningful connections. Larry’s warmth, humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Larry is survived by his children: Pamela Jeannine Testerman – Shaffer and husband Mark, William Testerman and wife Michelle, Brian Testerman, and Brandon Testerman and wife Ashley; 11 beloved grandchildren; 6 adored great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Kenneth Wilson and Debbie Hammons. He is also remembered by his former wife and friend, Patricia Hamilton Testerman.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025 at 12:30 PM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, Maryland. Family and friends are welcome to begin gathering at 11:30 AM. Following the service, Larry will be laid to rest at Little Britain Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Larry’s memory to (Veterans organization, hospice, or charity of choice), honoring his legacy of service and love.
Larry’s kindness, resilience, and love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
