Kristin Michelle Sassi (52) of Landenberg, PA, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones after a long battle with cancer. Kristin was born in Wilmington, DE on May 8, 1970, she was the daughter of the late Henry A. Prusinski and Beverly (nee, Trzinski) Prusinski and the beloved wife of 26 years to Bruce Sassi.
Kristin received a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Delaware. She taught Special Education at H. B. Dupont Middle School for 10 years. Kristin then dedicated her life to being a stay-at-home-mom, raising her five children. Kristin’s greatest joys in life came directly from her family and she cherished every moment with them. She never missed an event for her children and was their greatest cheerleader for their successes and conciliator in their challenges.
Kristin enjoyed exercising at the gym with her husband, reading a good True Crime novel, and fishing at the Jersey Shore and in the Florida Keys. She was also an animal lover, particularly dogs, who were treated more like family members than pets. Kristin especially loved spending family time at their beach house in Ocean City, New Jersey. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Kristin is survived by her loving husband, Bruce; children: Alexia Standt (David), Nicole Holbrook (Matt), Dominic Sassi, Luke Sassi and Mia Sassi; brothers: Gary Prusinski and Michael Prusinski and granddaughter, Penelope.
A private celebration of Kristin’s life will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to www.metavivor.org which is a charitable organization focused solely on helping metastatic breast cancer patients and research.
