Keith “Tony” Anthony Bailey, age 63, of Elkton, MD passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019. He was born on February 26, 1956 in Elkton, MD to the late Herman Dewey Bailey and Virginia Fair (Wilson) Bailey.
Tony worked for W.L. Gore Associates for over 30 years before his retirement in 2013. In his younger years he enjoyed doing pencil sketches, and was quite talented. Tony liked to hunt for arrowheads along the beach, and furthered this hobby by learning to knap arrowheads from rock and glass. He loved being retired, as this allowed him to spend more time with his friends shooting pool and riding his Harley Davidson, which he kept in pristine condition. Tony had a natural affinity for the water where he would go swimming, cliff diving, and kayaking. His joy in water even extended to the frozen variety where he would spend hours plowing snow for the neighborhood on his four wheeler. Tony enjoyed traveling to the Outer Banks and taking Caribbean Cruises. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Marsha Bailey of Elkton, MD; three daughters: Jennifer Jones of Elkton, MD, Laura Johansen of Colora, MD and Kelley Bailey of Elkton, MD; five grandchildren: Mitchell and Michael Johansen, Lilly Whelan, Mervin Jones and Tory Smith; brothers, Phillip Bailey, Tim VanDyke, and Jeffrey VanDyke; and sister, Joetta Ball. In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his brother Terry Bailey; and step-father, Joseph VanDyke.
A celebration of Tony’s life will be held at 1:30pm on Monday, March 18, 2019 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 E. Main St., Elkton, MD 21921, where family and friends may begin visiting at 11:30am. Burial will follow at North East Methodist Cemetery.
