Keith Raymond Stephens, age 72, of Conowingo, MD passed away November 23, 2020. He was born on October 21, 1948 in Dundalk, MD to the late Russel Stephens and Marie Stephens (Komornik).
Keith was a self-taught musician that could play blue grass and gospel music. His musical talents included the mandolin, banjo, guitar, bass, song writing, and vocals. He was fortunate enough to have met and play instruments with Ola Belle Reed. Keith loved and collected Lionel trains. He also loved the train gardens and admired the big steam engines. Keith was a jokester and loved his kids dearly. He also worked for the Girl Scout camp in Conowingo and used to own the “Country Critters” pet store in Rising Sun, MD. Keith served our nation as a service member of the Navy.
Keith is survived by his wife of 8 years, Darlene O. Stephens; daughter, Nikki Stephens-Sipes and her husband Doug of Cheyenne, WY; daughter, Jennifer Stephens of Cheyenne, WY; daughter, Darlene Midcap of Elkton, MD; son Jeff Messinger of Erie, PA; son, Vern Messinger of Elkton, MD son, Peter Messinger of Elkton, MD; daughter, Jamie Messinger of Elkton, MD; sister, Candy Sammons-Davis; twin-sister, Karen Severns; 12 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Keith is preceded in death by his 1st wife, Sondra Stephens; brother, Bill Stephens; and daughter, Penny Messinger.
