In Loving Memory
May 19, 1948 – August 1, 2022
Kathleen (Kathy) Stradling Baldwin (age 74), of Newark, DE, passed on to be with God on Monday, August 1, 2022. Kathy was born in Abington, PA on May 19, 1948 to Evelyn (Nixon) and Robert Stradling. She was a graduate of Dickinson High School in Wilmington, DE, and attended Goldey-Beacom College, graduating first in her class with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration with a specialty in secretarial and accounting services. She was a certified medical coder, again graduating first in her class, among her many other talents.
Kathy married the love of her life Jeffrey Baldwin in June 1969 and together they had one child, Craig Baldwin. She was a devoted wife of 53 years to Jeff, together for 56 years, she was literally his everything. She leveraged her education working in and managing OB/GYN doctor’s offices for most of her adult life before retiring in 2017. Kathy was a mother and a grandmother, a voracious reader – one of her true lifelong pleasures, and an avid crossword puzzler – a trait she picked up from both of her parents. She loved to travel with her husband, Jeff, especially during their empty nester years, and she loved cooking for her family, taking pride in making many special holiday meals and creating special holidays for her family and especially for her grandchildren. She held very fond memories of her large “friends and family” style vacations up in Cape Cod, MA, while growing up and well into her adulthood. During retirement, Kathy often shared time out at many local karaoke establishments alongside her husband Jeff who loves singing karaoke, meeting and making many friends along the way. She will be forever in the hearts and minds of her surviving family members and friends who had the privilege of knowing her.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Jeffrey L. Baldwin, her son Craig J. Baldwin and his wife Stacy M. Baldwin, and her three grandchildren Kelsey, Andrew and Jared Baldwin. She is survived by her brother, Robert N. Stradling, and her sister Nancy S. Roberts; an aunt to two nieces and one nephew, and a great aunt to six and a 2nd great aunt to one. She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Nixon Stradling, and her father Robert Jamison Stradling, and her sister-in-law Sharon Stradling.
Private services will be held by the family. The family would like to acknowledge and give special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Delaware Hospice Center for the compassionate and loving care that Kathy received during her final days.
