She did a lot of things in her life and all of it was good. As an artist she painted with the Northeast Four who had several successful exhibits in North East, MD. She was also a Board member of the Cecil County Public Library. She was an expert on French Impressionism and also collected paintings from the New Hope School (Pennsylvania Impressionism centered around Bucks County). Her Summer “Sweet corn parties” were notable events, which occasionally featured a hot air balloon and a jousting tournament.
For nine years she hosted Wilmington Blue Rocks minor league baseball players in her home during the season. Of the fifteen players who called her “Mom,” seven became Major Leaguers.
