John William Villamagna passed peacefully as the sun rose on Monday, April 10, 2023. He was born on April 27, 1944, in New Rochelle, NY to the late Charles Villamagna and Clara (Rossi) Villamagna. He graduated from Sewanhaka High School and proudly served in the United States Army with a tour in Germany, after which he graduated from Nassua Community College (NY). John was an easy-going people-person who loved playing golf and softball, cheering for the NY Mets and NY Giants, listening to Sinatra, planning and taking naps, eating Sunday dinner, and above all spending time with family and friends. He was known for his John-isms and loved for his quick wit and light-hearted nature. John lit up a room and spread happiness and laughter wherever he went. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
John is survived by his loving daughters, Traci Villamagna and Amy Villamagna (Dan Evans); grandchildren, Samantha Villamagna Carey (Ryan), Christopher Kistner, Eli Evans; current wife, Joan Klockars and first wife, Vivian Hagen; children through marriage, Amanda McMullen (Brian), Craig Klockars (Heather); grandchildren through marriage, Brianna McMullen, Tyler McMullen, Chase Klockars, Payton Klockars; brother, George Villamagna (Leila); and his beloved dog, Chessie. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sandra Prairie, and brother, Andy Villamagna.
Family and friends are invited to gather in memory and celebration of John at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., Elkton, MD beginning at 11:30am on Saturday, April 15, 2023, with memorial service at 1:00 pm. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the “Meeting of the Minds” program at the Newark Senior Center, which supported John in recent years. Please send in care of R.T.
