I knew John in the 1950's and 60's when we were both caddies at Garden City Country Club on Long Island. We were virtually the same age. I hadn't thought about him in many many years but for some reason today I did. So I Googled his name and found his recent obituary. How sad a finding. The last that I saw John was in 1963 or '64 when he came back from his army stint and was playing golf. He was quite a good player at that time and had also been an star end on the Sewanhaka high school football team. Tall and thin he had the right physique for both sports. I remember that John was quite a joker with a sharp sense of humor and an all around likable person. I'm saddened by his passing and give my regards and condolences to his friends and family.

On behalf of Amy's colleagues here at Plymouth State, my condolences to the family on your loss. While I never had the pleasure to meet John, I get a sense that I know him very well through Amy's positive spirit. I'm confident that his his love for life (and the Giants and Mets, of course) will certainly continue to live on through others.
