




John Pratt Wright, age 69, of Aberdeen, MD passed away surrounded by friends and family on January 2, 2016.
John was born in Coatesville, PA to the late Harry W. Wright and Mildred P. Wright.
John founded The Bargaineer newspaper in the mid 1970’s, serving Harford and Cecil County, MD. After building and operating a successful newspaper, John sold The Bargaineer to the Chesapeake Publishing Company and then continued his life-long passion as an antique collector/picker, staying true to his entrepreneuring spirit. Additionally, he enjoyed boating, fishing, photography, and spending time in the Florida Keys. John was a long time member of Rotary International with his home club location in Aberdeen, MD. He loved spending time with his family, especially his nine grandchildren.
John is survived by his son, Cary Wright of Bel Air, MD; daughter, Renee Newberger and her husband, Louis of Linthicum, MD; step-son, David Taddeo and his wife, Joanna of Bel Air, MD; step-daughter, Elizabeth Longenecker and her husband, Craig of Parkton, MD; nine grandchildren; and his former wife and friend, Kathy Keen of Havre de Grace, MD.
John is preceded in death by his former companion, Nancy Taddeo, who passed away in 2009.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 6-8PM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A. 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911. A celebration of John’s life will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 11AM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A where friends and family are welcomed to attend. A burial will follow the service at Brookview Cemetery, Cemetery Lane, Rising Sun, MD 21911. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made payable to “Aberdeen Fire Department” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A.
