Jack Evans, age 54, of Newark, DE passed away June 24, 2018. He was born in Lewes, DE on October 11, 1963 to Vera Evans and the late William Evans.
Jack worked for various Group Homes as a residential counselor and was an avid reader with a library full of books. He loved playing with his kids and would frequent the beaches in Ocean City, MD and Rehoboth Beach, DE. Some of Jack’s hobbies at the beach included fishing and sailing on the water. Jack was a Philadelphia sports team fanatic and was absolutely ecstatic when the Phillies won the World Series and more recently with the Eagles winning the Super Bowl. He also loved listening to the Rolling Stones and went even attended some of their concerts.
Jack is survived by his wife of 11 years, Melissa Evans; children, Christian William Evans, Kelsey Geneveve Evans, Brett Ryan Kauffman, Brittany Melissa Kauffman, Sasha Amber Willis; mother, Vera Evans; sister, Tove Schuster (Matt); nieces, Olivia Schuster and Jessica Schuster; and uncle, Johan Rasmussen.
A memorial service for Jack Evans will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “Diabetes Foundation” or “Cardiovascular Research – Christiana Care Health System” and sent in care of the R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE 19711.
