


John Frank Beamer, 77, of Newark, DE passed away Saturday, April 11, 2015.
Born May 12, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA, John was the son of the late, Thomas William Beamer, Sr. and the late Alice Georganna Tunnell Marvel. He was an active member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church where he was a regular speaker at the Wednesday Hospitality Luncheon. John was also actively involved in the Food Pantry ministry and the weekly prayer meetings.
After high school, John served in the US Navy for 9 years. He then held the position of Foreman at the Chrysler Plant in Newark, DE. He was a 1977 graduate of Valley Forge Christian College. John then became the Pastor of Hellertown Assembly of God Church in Hellertown Pa. Among his many career experiences he worked at Beamer Construction in NJ, Tri-State Battery in Newark, DE. and Walmart in Northeast, MD. He had enjoyed retirement for the last several years.
John is survived by his wife, Lisa Beamer; three sons, David Earl Beamer, Donald Heywood Beamer and Kenneth Michael Beamer; daughter, Kathryn Ann Harclerode; sisters, Alice Ramona Derrickson, Jo Rice Miller, and Jackie Disharoon; 19 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; 1 step grandchild, and 2 step great grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 half-brothers and 2 half-sisters. Including his parents, John was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas William Beamer, Jr. and Alfred George Beamer.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Cornerstone Church, 3135 Summit Bridge Rd, Bear, DE 19701. Doors open at 11am, Memorial Service at 12:00pm followed by a “Celebration of Life” luncheon. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Cornerstone Methodist Church for the Food Pantry Ministry and sent in care to R.T. Foard & Jones, Inc., 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711. John was dearly loved by all and will be greatly missed.
