John Francis Kinsley, 89, of Newark, Delaware, passed away on February 26, 2017 at his home.
John, or Jack as he was known by his friends, was born in Wyalusing, PA and was 1 of 13 children. After marrying Musette Jayne in June 1949, they moved to Newark, Delaware. He worked as an auto carrier for M&G Convoy until retiring in 1988. Upon Musette’s death in 1992, he married Bonita Lindell who died in 2012.
Jack loved traveling by motor home in his younger years with Alaska being one of his most memorable trips.
As he got older, he thrived on making people laugh and smile and baking chocolate chip cookies for anyone who would eat them. He always had a love of dogs and cats and most recently loved doggy sitting for a neighbor’s dog, Olivia.
He is survived by his daughters, Dawn Febo (Fred) of Chantilly, VA and Bonnie Kinsley of Lincoln University, PA and his step children Brendan Lindell (Louisa), Jack Lindell (Penny Sylvester), and Eunice Chudzik (Stephan) as well as 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren., and 2 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers; Jerry of Florida, Billy of Virginia, Donald of Maryland; and sister Anne Antonich of Michigan.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to nurses of the Christiana Heart Center as well as his wonderful Fountainview neighbors in Newark, Delaware where he lived the last 4 ½ years.
Funeral services will be held graveside at 11:00 on Monday, March 6th at The Head of Christiana Cemetery, 1100 Church Road, Newark, DE 19711. Minister Miranda Lane of God’s Safe Haven Ministry will be officiating. R.T. Foard and Jones Funeral Home, Inc. are handling the funeral arrangements. Please join the family at John’s home for light refreshments directly following the service.
