Joanne Marie (Holloway) DeWeese, age 73 of Elkton, MD died on February 23, 2016 at Season’s Hospice Christiana Care.

Born on April 21, 1942, Joanne was the daughter of the late Leven Franklin and Anne Kafader Holloway. She worked as a registered nurse for the majority of her career in home healthcare. She was an active volunteer on various committees and boards, especially the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, where she took great pride in helping her fellow cancer survivors and advocating for improvement of cancer support services. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.

Surviving to cherish her memory is her husband of 51 years, Phil DeWeese; son, Chip DeWeese (Judy) of Center Valley, PA; three daughters: Cathy DeWeese Barbour (Kurt) of Bolingbrook, IL, Cindy DeWeese Argenziano (Jason) of North East, MD, and Christy DeWeese Smith (Josh) of Newark, DE; seven grandchildren: Joe, Kara, Caitlyn, Douglas, Ryder, Leven, and Camryn; brothers: Jack Holloway (Sue) and Joe Holloway (Judy); and sister, Linda Fulcher.

A celebration of Joanne’s life will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 11:00AM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921. A visitation will be held one hour prior at 10:00AM where family and friends are welcome to attend. Memorial contributions may be made payable to the “Helen F. Graham Cancer Center” and sent to R.T Foard Funeral Home, 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
