Jesse C. Eller, age 91, of Newark, DE, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE after a short illness. He was born in Clifton, NC on September 20, 1923, to the late Lester and Lora Eller.
Mr. Eller was a veteran of World War II and received a Purple Heart. After returning from the service, he went to work for General Motors in Newark, DE until his retirement. He was married for 51 years to his wife, Mary Dunsmore Eller before her passing in 2004. He was a member of New London Baptist Church. In his earlier days, Jesse loved working with his twin brother, Jim, hunting and fishing with his sons. He was also known to be the “biggest wrestling fan of all time!”
He is survived by his son, Stan E. Williams, of Newark, DE; a granddaughter, Charlotte Racine; a sister-in-law, Agnes Eller; 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Mary; son Charles E. Williams; brothers, Clarence Eller, Jim Eller, who was his identical twin, and John Eller; sisters, Helen Owens, Mary Fulton, and May Whitman.
Services will be held at 11AM on Monday, August 3, 2015, at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, Inc., 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE 19711. Family and friends may visit one hour prior beginning at 10AM. Burial and military honors will follow at Cherry Hill United Methodist Cemetery in Cherry Hill, MD.
