James Clarence Horney, Jr., 77, of Rising Sun, MD, formerly of Baltimore, passed away February 4, 2016.
Born November 4, 1938 in Baltimore, MD, James was the son of the late James Clarence Horney, Sr. and the late Alice Elizabeth (Fousek) Horney. James worked at Burgers Erectors, Inc. as a sheet metal mechanic for 52 years where he retired in 2000 but he continued to work with them as needed. He loved working on his farm where he raised miniature horses. In his spare time he enjoyed eating crabs and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren whom he cherished dearly.
James is survived by two children, James Clarence Horney, III and Stacey Jones and her husband, Kevin; two grandchildren, Christian Soren and Margaret Claire Jones; and two siblings, Mary Kincaid and Charles Horney. Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 32 years, Margaret Horney and his sister, Elizabeth Squires.
A visitation will be held from 6-8pm Friday, February 12, 2016 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911. Services will be held at 11am Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the funeral home, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10am. Burial will follow at Brookview Cemetery.
