Jacqueline “Jackie” Hertel, age 72, from Earleville, MD, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2024. She was born on October 28, 1951, in Elizabethtown, NJ, to the late Arthur Frederick Wagner, and Isabelle Joan (Rewick) Wagner.

Jackie, a beloved soul who touched the lives of many with her infectious laughter, boundless happiness, and unwavering generosity. She loved the ocean, watching Pastor Joyce Myers, and listening to all types of music particularly the Backstreet Boys, and Alabama. Family was the cornerstone of Jackie’s existence. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, whose presence brought her much happiness.

Jackie is survived by her loving husband of 9 years, James Hertel, children:  Karen Carroll, Jennifer Carroll Handy, Lisa R. Reynolds, and Brandon Carroll; grandchildren: Jessy Handy, Jr., Jade Handy, Nathan Carroll, Janelle Handy, Cameron Garcia, Allie Reynolds, Abby Reynolds, Jeremiah Johnson, Isabelle Carroll, Lucas Carroll, Ava Carroll, Jeremiah Weber, Isaiah Weber, Winter Weber, Meadow Weber, and Alaska Weber; siblings Cheryl Pianka, Dawn Redmann, and Lorrie George.

In addition to her parents, Jackie is preceded in death by her brother, Fred Wagner.

A celebration of Jackie’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD where family and friends may begin visiting at 10:00 AM. Burial will be private.
