Iva Jeanette Williams, age 93, of Newark, DE passed away on November 29, 2015. She was born in Seaford, DE on January 7, 1922.
Iva resided in Oak Orchard, DE and Sarasota, FL, until her husband’s passing. She was active in the CHEER Center in Long Neck, DE. One of her favorite activities was dressing as a stork for friends’ birthday celebrations at the CHEER center.
Iva is survived by her son, Kindell H. Williams and his wife, Geri, of Wilmington, DE, her daughter, Peggy W. Brown of Newark, DE, five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her parents, Lillian and Harry Messick, her husband, Ralph Williams, her son, William Williams, and her best friend of 71 years, Minerva Hostetler.

We have very fond memories of Mrs Williams. One in particular was the story about the monkey. She warned all the neighbors in Oak Orchard to watch their pets because there was a pet monkey stalking the neighborhood pets. She had spotted this monkey on the wall looking at Dottie. We realized what she was talking about and explained that was no monkey it was our cat. Once she saw the cat she had a great laugh about it, we all did and still do. She was always fun to be with. We will miss her.

I am saying a fond farewell to a very special person in my life. My aunt Jeanette was a very special person we were born on the same day 25 years apart and it was special for us to make sure we said a happy birthday on that special day. Memories to many to mention here brings a smile to my face. My wife Judy and I had many great times together when Uncle Kenny and Aunt Jeanette spent their winters in Florida. Yes she was one to want keep the family together and I hope Bud Peg, and all my loved family in Delaware keep those wants of Jeanette alive. No more getting up for sunrise at Oak Orchard, smelling my aunt's coffee. Perhaps there will be more crabs and beer along the river but only memories of her getting the crab pot, vinegar and old bay ready to cook the crabs. It is sad to see the passing of the greatest generation.....
