Helen Louise Smith

Helen Louise Smith, age 80, from Colora, MD, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. She was born on May 31, 1944, in Wilmington, DE to the late James Donald Ewing and Mary Cassandra (Durgin) Ewing.

Helen dedicated her life to being a homemaker, a role she cherished dearly. She poured her heart and soul into taking care of her family. Helen’s greatest joy in life came from spending time with her family. She was a proud grandmother who absolutely adored her grandchildren, often delighting in spoiling them and going to their various events. Helen enjoyed baking cookies for her family, baking was just one of the many ways she expressed her love.

Helen is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Ronald G. Smith, Sr.; daughter, Lisa Smith; son, Gregory Smith (wife, Raechel); grandchildren: Jaclyn Phillips, Chantel Wilson, Daniel Christian Smith, Kaylan Smith, Kaden Smith, Austin Williams, Kyle Williams, Karolanne Sperr, and Wade Osbourne; great grandchildren: Gracen, Nora, Sadie, Isabelle, Ashton, Ernie, and Jaxson; brother, Forrest Ewing (wife, Bessie).

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her son, Ronald G. Smith, Jr.

At the convenience of the family, services for Helen will be held privately.
