Grace L. ‘Amazing Grace’ Blendy, 83, of Elkton, MD, passed away March 29, 2012 at Elkton Care and Rehabilitation.
Born in Bear, DE on December 20, 1928, Grace was the daughter of the late Benjamin Y. Lloyd and Lillie Marie Anderson Reynolds. She was employed as a most congenial and professional receptionist/operator at W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc. for 27 years. Prior to her employment at W.L. Gore, Grace worked at Wetherall Steel in Baltimore, MD as a receptionist and full time PBX operator for eight years. She was an honorary member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 7867 in Chesapeake City and also a member of St. Basil Ukrainian Catholic Church where she sang in the choir.
She is survived by her brother Benjamin Lloyd and his wife Anna Ethel of Dothan, AL; her sister Eva Shaw and niece Sandra Shaw both of New Castle, DE, sisters-in-law Barbara Blendy of Chesapeake City, MD, Stella Blendy, Philadelphia, PA and Tillie Blendy of Elkton, MD, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Blendy who died in 2000, her brother Gilbert Reynolds and wife ‘Jinx’ and her niece Margaret Dilling.
Friends and family are welcome at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 318 George St., Chesapeake City, MD 21915 on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. will be offered at St. Basil Ukrainian Catholic Church, Basil Avenue, Chesapeake City, MD. Graveside services will be held following the Mass at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery.
