Dear Family: I am sorry that this is late, but i just heard of Jerry's passing. Having spend 60 years living and working in Cecil County, MD, it was a pleasure to have known Jerry. One of the greates thing that Jerry did (in our opinion) was to actively push for Bluebirdsto continue to grow and populate. since we have Bluebird boxes thanks to him...We are most grateful for all of his efforts. Bless you all for him. Ann & Wayne Hill, 186 Salient Ln, Mt Julier, Tennessee 37122

Jerry was one of my favorites. He certainly did a lot for the Rising Sun community. I remember how he and Sally Teague worked to get the new library. As a newcomer in town, I thought perhaps their ideas were over-the-top, but I didn't know either of them well at the time. They both had a lot of energy and VISION. Lucky for the town we have been enjoying our wonderful library due to their effort. My husband met Jerry through Rising Sun Lions club. In fact, Jerry was instrumental in sponsoring him into the club. From that relationship, Jerry invited us to join a square dance group, Susquehanna Swingers. At this moment, I can picture Jerry and Madeline dressed in their square dance clothing moving around the room to the music. They were a cute couple. I currently have three bluebird boxes on my property. I attempt to maintain them as regularly as Jerry recommended. I wonder how many bluebirds have been hatched in the boxes he provided. I was given a stern reprimand by Jerry the first time I allowed "foreign" birds in the boxes and have monitored them closely ever since. I last saw Jerry at Sally's funeral. We had a nice chat. He was a delightful person and I think of him often especially when checking on the bluebird boxes. I am so pleased to have met him. I only noticed the obituary the day after the service; I am so sorry I did not join you. Lion Marilyn Powell
