Georgia Plummer Pusey, age 92, of Colora, MD, expired on Sept. 19, 2012. She was the wife of Wessels S. Pusey with whom she shared 64 years of marriage.
She was raised on the Old Plummer Farm, at Lums and Plummer Rds., North East, MD and was the daughter of the late Seibert C. Plummer and Mamie Spencer Plummer. She is survived by a sister, Doris P. Lucas of Rising Sun, MD.
She graduated from North East High School in 1936. During WW II, she worked for the Aberdeen MD Federal Public Housing as a Personnel Director. Then, she went to school to become a hair stylist. She owned and operated the “Country Beauty Shoppe” on Love Run Road, Colora, MD for over 30 years. Retiring from that profession, she and her husband became interested in raising Christmas trees and was one of the first owners of a Christmas tree farm in the area. She loved to travel and always felt life had been good to her.
A graveside service will be held at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery on Thursday November 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Northern Chesapeake Hospice Foundation c/o R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., PO Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
