Conrad Eugene Waddell (Gene), age76, of Rising Sun Maryland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Season’s Hospice in Newark, DE, surrounded by his family.
Born in Smyth County, Virginia on August 17, 1938, Gene was the youngest child of the late Talmadge and Georgia Waddell.
He served in the armed forces from 1957-1962, and worked in the auto assembly trade for 30 years. He was a proud member in the UAW local 1183 and retired from Chrysler in 1989. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and Ravens football, but spending time with his wife and family was what Gene loved best. He was the life of the party, lifting spirits and making friends everywhere he went.
Gene is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia (Trixie); his sons, Michael, Dean, and Keith; grandchildren, Michael, Julie, and Jaime; great grandchildren, Quin and Arlo; and his sister, Faye Jamison of Little Britain Pa.
He was preceded in death by his son Brian; his brothers Garland, Wallace, Elmo, John, and Manley; his sisters Aretta Frock Webb, and Melba Melrath.
A Christian Burial Service will be held at 11AM on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Moore’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 392 Blake Road, Elkton, MD 21921. Friends and family may visit from 6-8PM on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, PA, 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911, and from 10-11AM at the church on May 4, 2015.
