Evelyn June Stamatoff, age 83, of Newfoundland, PA passed away peacefully on August 28, 2018. Born in New York City, NY on June 2, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Gelu S. and Sarah (Ames) Stamatoff.
Evelyn resided in New Jersey until she was 15 years old; her family then moved to Newark, DE. In 1990, she moved to Pennsylvania, living at Devereux Pocono Center for 28 years. Evelyn loved to travel, taking trips to Bulgaria, England, and a cruise to Bermuda. She also enjoyed doing arts and crafts, as well as listening to music and playing the piano.
Evelyn is survived by her sisters: Diana Cohen and her husband, Wayne, of Lewes, DE, and Janice Jochen and her husband, Edwin, of Newark, DE; brother, James Stamatoff and his wife, Linda, of Tallahassee, FL; three nieces and five nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her nephew, David Cohen.
Memorial services for Evelyn were held at Devereux Pocono Center in Newfoundland, PA. A private family burial will be held at Head of Christiana Cemetery in Newark, DE.
