Eleanor D. Saponaro, age 89, of Conowingo, MD, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 29, 2017.

Born December 30, 1927 in Lynn, MA, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Kenneth Sargent and the late Margaret McAllister. Eleanor enjoyed reading and cooking, however, her greatest joy was to spend time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Eleanor is survived by two sons: Michael and Frank Saponaro; three daughters: Helen Emanuel, Josephine Paxton, and Lynn Saponaro; eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank T. Saponaro and her daughter, Mary Saponaro.

Services will be held privately and at the family’s convenience.

Oh Helen...I'm so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. Losing your mom is so hard. My mind is flooded with memories of your childhood home above The Conowingo Inn. I spent many happy hours there with you and your family. I can still vividly picture that apartment in my mind. I remember Eleanor as a busy mom who really loved her children. She was always kind to me and I felt welcome. I remember her being kind to animals too. My thoughts and sympathy are with you, and with Mike, Joey, Lynnie and Frankie.
