Edwin O. Rex Jr.

Edwin O. Rex, Jr. of Newark, DE, age 94, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021. He was born on October 26, 1926 in Summit Hill, PA to the late Edwin O. Rex, Sr. and Eva K. (Weaver) Rex.

Edwin proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #25. Edwin found his greatest joy in spending time with his beloved wife, Dorothy. They would often travel together in their RV, take cruises, and made multiple trips to Hawaii.

Edwin is survived by his son, Douglas Rex and his wife, Christina; six grandchildren: Christy Spencer, Craig Romig and his wife, Kristin, Carey Sambogna and her husband, Paul, Max Rex, Eva Rex and Dwayne Riley; five great-grandchildren: Hailey, John, Jack, Liam and Gillian; sister, Lavonne Rehrig and son-in-law, William R. Romig. In addition to his parents, Edwin is preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah K. Romig.

Services for Edwin will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Rex will always be remembered as a wonderful neighbor, always smiling, and never missing an opportunity to come to our cookouts. I will miss him dearly.

Doug, my deepest sympathy to you and your family. Uncle Eddie was always a live wire. He always had a funny story to share. He and Aunt Dot were a marvelous couple. I used to visit him regularly until this last year. I hope his passing was peaceful. Pat
