Doris M. Reynolds, age 90, of Rising Sun, MD passed away on July 7, 2012.
Doris was born on August 4, 1921 in Rising Sun, MD to Taylor & Ethel McVey. She was a graduate of Salisbury State Teachers College class of 1942 and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. Doris remained active with her alumni throughout her years. Doris taught elementary school for Cecil County Public Schools until her retirement in 1985 and was a member of the Maryland Retired Teachers Association. Doris was a member of West Nottingham Presbyterian Church and was active with Meals on Wheels for many years. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling, sewing, needlework, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Mark N. Reynolds of Schuyler, VA; daughter, Robbin C. Twilley of Centreville, MD; grandchildren, Christopher M. Twilley of Camp Lejeune, NC and Alyssa T. Haldeman of Seaford, DE.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold N. Reynolds; brother, George B. McVey; sister, Betty M. Stone.
A Service will be held 2pm on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at R. T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A. 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD where family and friends may call one hour prior. Burial to follow at West Nottingham Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Seidel Scholars Program in Education at Salisbury University c/o R. T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
