Donald Edward Allen “The Cowboy” (82) of North East, Maryland, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2023. Born in Baltimore, Maryland on January 31, 1941, raised in Darby, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Harold and Mable (Fitzpatrick) Allen and the devoted husband of Marlene (Pickett) Allen.
Don was owner and operator of Cowboy Printing Company and the Menu Marketing Company in Elkton, Maryland. Don had a great love of Horses, especially Miniature Horses. He actually had the honor of leading his Zion Acres Minatare Horses in the inaugural parade for President George H. W. Bush in Washington, DC in 1989. Don was a great story teller and liked sharing his sense of humor with family and friends. He enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley, Country & Western Music and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. Don was a very spiritual man and was a long-time member of Fairwinds Baptist Church. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his sister, Mabel Taulman.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Marlene Allen; 8 children: Dawn (Allen) Jones, Jen (Pickett) Maurer, Ray Allen, Donnie Allen, Eric Allen, Eddie Allen, Chris Allen and Sean Allen; 8 grandchildren: Catie, Skyleigh, Brooke, Serenity, Erica, Kyle, Ryan and Logan; sisters: Margie Gamble and Marlene Green. Along with numerous neices and nephews.
A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 12 PM at the R. T. Foard Funeral Home – 259 East Main Street, Elkton, Maryland. The family will begin receiving friends at 10 AM.
