Danica Bajlovic (maiden name Kulojevic) 94, of Newark, passed away peacefully at her home on November 9, 2022. Danica was born in Luscani, Petrinja, Croatia on January 14, 1928 to the late Duro and Julijana (Maiden: Bakrac) Kulojevic and was one of 6 children. After surviving World War 2, she married Mirko Bajlovic on May 9, 1948, and continued to live in the village of Luscani. Danica and Mirko had 3 children, Vasilj (1948), Draga (1950), and Adam (1955). Danica raised her children and worked on the family farm until the civil war in Yugoslavia. After fleeing from their village during Operation Storm, they made their way to Serbia, before coming to live with her daughter, Draga, and son-in-law Nikola, in Newark, DE in 1995. Danica was preceded in death by her husband, Mirko, in 2008. Her pastimes included crocheting, knitting hats and socks as Christmas gifts for everyone, walking in the neighborhood, rushing to get the mail every day, and proudly never having a drop of alcohol despite making plenty of it. She is survived by all 3 of her children: Vasilj Bajlovic and Draga Slijepcevic of Newark, DE, and Adam Bajlovic of Croatia; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at R.T. Foard and Jones, 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE 19711 where friends and family may begin visiting at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Newark Cemetery.
