Dallas D. Dolan of Newark, DE, age 91, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021. She was born in Russell Dickenson County, VA on January 13, 1930 to the late Luther Kemp Harris and Virgie Mae (Tiller) Harris.
Dallas was a long-time member of the Church of God in Joppa, and had a lifetime relationship with God. She had a sweet tooth, enjoying the candy made by her sister Virginia, and was noted to make wonderful crab cakes and salmon cakes. A caregiver by nature, Dallas took care of her family, friends and neighbors, and she especially loved taking care of babies. She also loved all animals. Dallas enjoyed travelling whenever she could, and particularly loved having traveled to her favorite destination, Switzerland.
Dallas is survived by her daughter, Joyce Witte and her husband, John; four grandchildren: Lisa Dolan, Rose Dolan, Jennifer Schiller and Kristen Pombo; five great-grandchildren: Samantha Solan, Rylee Schiller, John Witte Schiller, Emelia Clara Pombo and Gabriel Kelly Pombo; and many cousins.
In addition to her parents, Dallas was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar William Dolan, Jr.; son, William Dale Dolan; brother, Eugene Harris and sister, Virginia Dare Cross.
Services for Dallas will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
