Clay became a part of our family many years ago, and it's true, he always had a smile on his face. He was gentle, kind, so intelligent, had a great wry sense of humor. Even though Clay never 'officially' became a part of our family, we always felt he was one of us...aways welcome. I haven't seen Clay in many years, though I always looked for him...I wish I had looked harder now. I have to believe I know where he is now; he is free and at peace.

Looking back, all of my fondest High School memories included Clay. Sneaking out of his parents house and skateboarding into Newark, going to live music events, frisbee golf sessions, and just cruising around in his red VW bus singing our favorite songs at the top of our lungs. He was like a brother to me. Back then, we had a bond that included nicknames and sayings that only him and I understood and I can still here him saying them in my mind and will always hold those in my heart. I will miss you dearly old friend. Love Gilberta

My deepest condolences to the McInnis family and to all who knew Clay. He'll be missed by so many. I only knew Clay in the past few years through my children and their friends, but I always enjoyed seeing him and speaking to him about his next venture. I especially recall Clay with his dog, Gonzo, and their special bond. To his family and all who knew him, cherish your memories and stay strong.

I am very sorry to hear of Clay's passing. We worked together a few years ago and I remember some great conversations with him about music, life, etc. He always had a smile on his face and was just an all around good guy to be around. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and close friends at this difficult time.

I remember the first time I met Clay more than ten years ago, I said to myself "who is that guy with those beautiful eyes?" More beautiful still though was his quiet and unassuming nature. And while the world was a better place with you in it, my friend, may your spirit now fly free from the earthly burdens of this world. Always in our memories and in our hearts....Gwen Parrack
