It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, poppop and friend. Christopher William Foster Sr. Chris passed away, surrounded by his family, from cancer on December 8, 2024, at the age of 67. Born in Wilmington, Delaware to Alice Anita (Janis) Foster and John Foster Sr. Chris was a 1975 graduate of Delcastle Technical High School, where he studied electrical work and went on to become a skilled electrician. Over the years, he made his mark in the electrical field, earning admiration for his expertise and dedication to his craft where he was well respected in the industry. Chris not only excelled in his field, but also in athletics, particularly wrestling during his time at Delcastle High School. His hard work and commitment to the sport paid off as he achieved impressive results, gaining recognition for his technique and resilience on the mat. His success in wrestling not only earned him accolades but also helped shape the discipline and work ethic that later contributed to his success as an electrician. Chris started his career at Coastal Electric and further on worked for Wyman Electric and Paul A. Nickle Electrical Company until he retired in 2011.
Chris’s favorite moments were always those spent with his family, especially when attending, managing, or coaching their sporting events. His passion for sports extended far beyond just his family; he was a devoted supporter of Philadelphia’s beloved teams—the Eagles, Flyers, and Phillies. Whether on the sidelines, in the stands, or at home, Chris found joy in every element that sports bring. Chris also enjoyed his weekly card games with his friends and hanging out and playing pool with his family and friends.
Chris leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, pride, and determination. His hard work and ability to overcome adversity reflect his extraordinary character. He instilled these values in his sons and grandchildren, ensuring they carried them forward in their own lives. Now, he will be reunited in heaven with his son Matt where their love, unbroken by death, will continue to shine as a beacon of comfort and strength for those they left behind.
Chris is pre-deceased by his son Matthew Foster (Matt), his parents John Foster Sr. and Alice Anita Foster. He is survived by his wife Geraldine Foster (Bucciarelli), sons Christopher Foster Jr, (Patrice), Jason Foster, (Amanda) and Bryan Foster (Terace Mignogna), grandsons, Jack Foster, Christopher Foster III, Chase Foster, Easton Foster and Finn Foster, granddaughters, Brianna Foster and Caitlyn Foster, brothers John Foster Jr. (Kathy), Daniel Foster (Sandy) and Patrick Foster.
Friends and family are invited to his visitation on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 10:00 AM, at R.T. Foard & Jones, Inc., 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE 1971. A celebration of Chris’ life will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will be held at All Saints Cemetery at a later date.
