Charles W. Mason, age 67, of Newark, DE passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019. Born in Long Beach, CA on January 23, 1952, Chuck was the son of the late Samuel LaVern Mason and Isabell Janette (Fenton) Mason.
Chuck grew up in Dansville, NY, later moving to Denver, CO, where he started his own business. It was there he met his loving wife, Gail and began their family. Chuck and his family then moved to Walla Walla, WA, where he worked for a time before moving to Newark, DE. Chuck continued his career in telecommunications in upstate New York. Chuck was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed skiing, baking pies, and tinkering with cars, along with traveling across the country with his family. He loved his dogs; the bigger and fluffier the better. Chuck was without a doubt a memorable person who had a positive outlook on everything and always had a plan. Chuck will be dearly missed by his wonderful family and his countless friends.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Gail Mason; two sons: Adam Charles Mason and his girlfriend, Keri Halsey; Alex R. Mason and his wife, Stephanie; two sisters: Chloe Goho and Kathy Hamilton; his uncle, Warren G. Fenton, and many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711, where family and friends may visit beginning at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the “Helen F. Graham Cancer Center,” and sent in care of the funeral home.

I still can't believe he is gone. Just spoke to him on a conference call last Monday. He will be greatly missed by everyone in the telecommunications industry, as well as by many friends and family. Chuck always looked after, and protected his friends and people that worked for and with him. He also always made new friends everywhere he went. I have known Chuck since 2002, and worked with him at Martin Group, ION and the Midtel project. He was a great man, and a wonderful friend. It was my pleasure to take him fishing a couple of times, and to join him on a couple of pheasant hunts. Chuck was the most positive man I have ever met in this industry, and a joy to work with.
