Cecil W. Atwood, Sr. passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the age of 79. He was born November 19, 1938 to the late Ronald and Lois Atwood.

Cecil had a lifetime love for cars, which started at the Chrysler plant. He eventually retired from the plant after dedicating many years on the assembly line. Cecil had a special hobby fixing and working on Volkswagen cars.

Cecil is survived by his son, Cecil W. Atwood, Jr. of Conowingo; daughter, Terry Irwin of Rising Sun; sister, Mary Perry of Rising Sun; brother, Junior Atwood of Elkton. He is also survived by his friend, Mary McClure of PA; brother-in-law, Richard Weaver of PA; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Cecil is preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Atwood; and son, Paul Atwood.

A celebration of Cecil’s life will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 11:00 am at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911. Family and friends may begin to visit at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Little Britain Cemetery.
